I remember my beginnings in the nineties. I have just began my series We, The Colonized Ones at Hunter College, born mostly from frustration and impotence, after all, the West was preparing itself to celebrate the invasion and erasure of millions in this millenary continent. I was young and without clear direction in NYC, when Carla Stellweg Gallery took me under their wing and promoted and nurtured my career with wisdom and care. She opened many doors and made possible for me to never stop making art. We went different ways but I always knew Carla was crucial in my life. Today, Gabriela Rosso, director of RoFa Projects is taking the reins with the same passion and faith that Carla Stellweg did. Artists, we need someone in our corner that can see us as more than object makers for we are the pulse of our society, the story tellers, the ones who document the todays for the tomorrows, hopefully.

Thank you Carla, from the bottom of my heart, I told Gabriela she reminded me of you and she said that it is a huge compliment. I agree.
